Prince Andrew: the explosive new book that could embarrass the royal family

By the end of April 2022, journalist Tina Brown is expected to publish a book that will substantiate the links between Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew. Explosive, the book is likely to upset many…

There is a chill running through the royal family at the moment. Tina Brown, the former editor-in-chief of Tatler, Vanity Fair and The New Yorker, as well as a royal biographer, is due to publish a book. In it she describes the relationship between Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein. Due out on 26 April 2022, The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor – the Truth and the Turmoil looks at how the American businessman and sex criminal used the royal to enrich himself. “Privately, Epstein would tell people that Andrew was an idiot but to him he was a useful idiot. A royal, even if corrupt, is still a powerful magnet abroad,” the journalist wrote.

But Tina Brown didn’t stop there, she even wrote: “Epstein made Andrew feel he had entered the big leagues – the business, the girls, the plane, the glittering world of New York, where he was not seen as a grown man still dependent on the strings of his mother’s private purse or the stern hierarchy of the palace. The Duke was always as obsessed with sex as a teenager is with breasts. Although Andrew has always claimed that he knew nothing of Epstein’s illegal behaviour, the two men were photographed in 2011, just after Epstein’s first release from prison.

Prince Andrew’s portrait by Tina Brown

In a few days’ time, this book is likely to be the subject of much ink. Especially since the journalist described Prince Andrew in less than glowing terms: “Andrew, unfortunately, exhibited classic symptoms of what is scientifically recognized as the Dunning-Kruger effect, the cognitive bias that causes people to believe they are smarter and more capable than they really are. She even portrayed Andrew as someone who had “inordinate self-confidence” and “unquestioning ignorance”.
