The BSO, your local Orchestra, needs your support to become the World’s Favourite Orchestra 2014!

wfo_logo.png 1,400×1,400 pixelsThe online classical music listings site, Bachtrack, is looking for the “World’s Favourite Orchestra 2014” and after the first week of voting the first polls are in and the BSO is leading the way in the UK rankings. However your support is needed to see off all challengers, especially from our orchestra friends in London! Voting is still open and runs until 6 October.

The BSO is a world-renowned international orchestra that delivers outstanding music and talent to the doorsteps of thousands across the South and South West of England. Excitement is at an all-time high as the opening of the BSO 2014/15 Concert Seasons in Poole, Exeter, Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Bristol fast approaches. 2014/15 also sees the BSO perform regular concerts in Basingstoke, Brighton, Cheltenham as well as many other performances across the South and South West, promising to empower the music scene across the region.

From the quaintest of local churches to the grandest international concert halls, the BSO strives to engage an incredibly diverse audience, introducing newcomers to exciting, live music-making experiences whilst enthusing those who have loved the Orchestra all their lives. BSO musicians passionately inspire audiences in a way that truly celebrates the culture and music that continues to enhance and transform lives. Since the birth of the BSO back in 1893, when a young Sir Dan Godfrey was appointed to direct the Municipal Orchestra of thirty uniformed and pill-box hatted players, the story of the Orchestra has been one of continuing adaptation to the times. The BSO has surmounted crises, survived two great wars, progressed from a seaside band to an internationally acclaimed symphony orchestra, and for over a century, provided uplift and enjoyment for thousands of people. You, the audience are a vital part of a continually evolving story.

To celebrate its progress in ‘The World’s Favourite Orchestra’ the BSO will be sharing 10 of their favourite, most memorable and truly epic moments on its Facebook page over the course of the next month.     rules for using it correctly. How many times have
    you, both personally and in business, purchased a product or service based
    upon another’s recommendation. Note that the white edge
    is part of the QR code, it is actually black patterns on a white box, so make sure you
    get it all.
